About the Project

What this is, and what it is not.

The position as of 2 October 2026

What this is

The Metanoia Project exists to undo the great trick and return humanity to its Edenic state.

The Metanoia Project is a research project founded in 2026, in Tipperary, Ireland. Its purpose is to make demonic phenomena a subject of rigorous scientific and philosophical enquiry, and to assemble, over a generation, the first body of evidence about it.

It is at the beginning. This page is an honest account of what that means.

Where it stands

What exists

  • The Black Paper — the founding argument, written and published.
  • One case, being documented: the founder’s own, filmed as it happens.
  • Not Myself — an open intake for first-person accounts.
  • A small group funding the work monthly.

What is proposed

  • A twenty-one year observation window, in every country that will host it.
  • Metanoics — a discipline, with one language and one object of study.
  • A methodology for observing and recording this phenomenon.
  • A tested standard of care for the people who suffer it.

Nothing in the second list exists yet. No research has been conducted. No data has been gathered beyond the accounts people have volunteered. The twenty-one year window has not opened.

Who is behind it

Michael, founder. The company will have at least two more directors. Their names go here when they are appointed.

There is no advisory board, no scientific committee and no institutional partner. If that changes, this page changes with it.

The conflict

I founded this Project. I am raising money for it. And I am its first subject.

I will be documenting my own case, funded on the strength of that documentation, and reporting on what I find. That is a conflict of interest, and no amount of good faith dissolves it.

What I can do is publish. The footage goes out whether it works or not. The researchers in the room put their names to what they see. Nothing is cut because it goes badly for me.

I would rather you read that here than discover it elsewhere.

How it is funded

Entirely by individuals giving small amounts, monthly or once. There is no institutional funding, no grant, and no church money.

What I draw from it, if anything, will be published here.

Legal position

The Metanoia Project is being established as a company limited by guarantee, registered with the Companies Registration Office in Ireland. Incorporation is in progress. The company number will be published here when it is issued.

An application to the Charities Regulator is in progress. Until a Registered Charity Number is issued, the Project is not a registered charity, and donations to it do not qualify for tax relief. When the number is issued it will be published here.

What this is not

  • Not a crisis service. If you are in danger, this is not where to start.
  • Not a church, a ministry, or a deliverance service.
  • No treatment, no rite, no cure. Nobody has been treated by this Project.
  • Not affiliated with any university, church, or institution.
  • Nobody speaks for the Project but its founder.

What would change our mind

We have argued that this work must be open to being wrong. These are the findings that would require us to withdraw the central claims.

  • If structured testimony gathered across traditions described materially different experiences rather than one, the claim that there is a single object of study fails.
  • If the states reported resolve reliably under existing psychiatric treatment, the claim that this is distinct from psychological illness fails.
  • If no systematic count can reproduce anything near the prevalence we cite, we will say so plainly and withdraw the figure.

What we have not verified

  • That no diocese publishes the number of requests for help it receives. We believe this to be the case and have not been able to confirm it.
  • The prevalence figure comes from two practitioners working independently, Fr Chad Ripperger and Dr Jacques Mabit. It is not the result of a study. We cite it as an estimate by experienced practitioners, and not as a finding.

If you believe anything on this page is wrong, say so: get in touch. Corrections will be made here and dated.
